June 21 Pond Report:
The three male ring-necked ducks seem to be displaying their maleness for the one female of their kind, by flashing wings and chasing each other in circles. The female is now hanging out by the mallard female who may have a nest in incubation, and Lady Merganser is floating nearby as if they need some "chick time," and I don't mean with ducklings.
Clouds are lifting, strands of mist dissipating and rain giving way to sunshine...just as a head cold seems to be descending upon me. Nothing serious, just sniffles and head wooziness.
So I am taking advice from a horse today and am resting...
